Managing photos
The item editor shows all photos attached to this item. For each photo you can:
Set as Key Photo
Click Set as Key (or the equivalent icon). The selected photo becomes the primary thumbnail shown on item cards and in the box view.
Crop a photo
Click the crop icon on a photo. The crop editor opens with pan and zoom controls:
- Drag the image to reposition (pan)
- Zoom slider to zoom in
- Click Save Crop to save the framed region as the cropped photo. The original is always preserved.
- Click Cancel to exit without saving.
Clear a crop
Click Clear Crop on a photo. The saved crop is removed; the item falls back to displaying the original full-resolution photo.
Pan/zoom without cropping
On the item card in the box view, you can drag the photo directly to reposition it. This stores an X/Y offset percentage and zoom scale — it does not create a new image file and does not require the crop editor.
Delete a photo
Click the delete/trash icon on a photo. The photo is removed from the item. If it was the key photo, another photo (or none) becomes the thumbnail.
Saving
Click Save at the bottom of the form. All field changes are applied immediately. Photo crop saves happen independently when you confirm the crop editor.
Troubleshooting
Item won't appear in financial overview Financial totals only count the Replacement Cost field. Ensure at least that field is filled in.
Category field not filtering in search The Items page search bar searches by name and description. Category is not a search filter in the current UI; it is stored for reference only.
Photo upload fails from the editor Check file format — HEIC files may need conversion first (use AI Identify → image preview to convert). JPEG and PNG upload reliably.
